I usually don’t write recipe reviews, but this is by far one of the best mac and cheese recipes I’ve ever made. I’ve tried a lot of oven and stovetop recipes, and been disappointed with them. And I only tried this recipe because my kitchen is being renovated!

But wow, such a simple recipe is VERY good. I used Barilla elbows, 4oz of pepperjack cheese, 8oz of sharp cheddar, and 4oz of velveeta. I didn’t use the spice blend suggested, and instead used Tony Chachere’s (cajun seasoning). After 1h30m, it was done. Noodles are cooked well and aren’t mushy. Sauce comes together well too.

Will definitely be making this again.

I’m wondering if you can do this on the stovetop on a low fire? My oven broke and I do not have a crockpot

This is the best mac & cheese ever! I made it yesterday for a big family dinner and today my sister went out and bought a slow cooker so she could make it tonight! Everybody raved about it! I used cream cheese in place of velveeta and added 1/2 teaspoon of ground mustard. So good!

Fantastic mac and cheese. I also used a tsp of ground mustard. It works really well here.
